I feel like everyone says this is the worst way to meet people (even women say it), seems kinda ironic. But based on my experience... yeah, it's true lol. What the fuck are you even supposed to do?

I think this is a huge problem with the younger generations. At a certain point as an individual I guess you gotta be bold when it comes to putting yourself out there, but I feel like we need a generational awakening on what it means to socialize. Otherwise we're all just enabled by this collective apathy

Met my wife on tinder.

It did take a while for me. She was like my 6th girl and 14-15th date in about 4 months of using it.

On the other hand, I was literally her first match.

It works for plenty of people. It worked quite well for me a few years ago and I don't know if anything majorly changed since then. What specifically isn't working for you? Is it getting matches, is it getting a conversation going, is it actually getting a date out of it?

I guess it all depends on how you use it. Met my wife online and I'm very happy with her. Been together for several years. I didn't meet her on tinder though, and the app we used was specifically for meeting people who want something serious (like not hook ups or something casual).

No clue. IMO meeting people online and engaging in a successful manner is more difficult than doing it in real life. Both my wife and I were no strangers in socializing in real life before we met each other, and we were complete neophytes in the online scene.

i'm guessing these are as good of first steps as any. I mean, honestly, I don't know. All I know is that it can work. I've never had an issue of meeting people in real life, but when it comes down to the online scene, i've been shutdown more than most. you'd best not take advice from me on that enviornment.

Can't match with anyone, I think I'm shadow banned at this point, even if I delete and remake. I mean I get a few but they're usually a fake of some sort. I'm not ugly but I guess I'm not that photogenic and don't do a lot of interesting stuff... but I feel like to an extent I need to meet more people to do interesting stuff so it's a bit of a catch 22

I feel like half or more of the relationships nowadays start from some sort of dating app. People who complain about it obviously don't remember what it was like before, where you just had to go out to the bars on the weekends and get drunk and try to talk to a random girl there.

Granted online dating isn't easy mode either. You have to put some effort into your profile so you stand out, and put your best pictures on there.

The problem is you present yourself in the most perfect way possible. As opposed to talking to someone face to face spontaneously.

But you can do interesting stuff without dating. Have you tried Meetup? I have seen it work wonders for introverted, geeky guys to make friends and also form relationships.

Tbf though you can generally guarantee people at a bar are looking to at least socialize. I feel like half the women I see on dating sites now are either a bot or just there to promote their IG/Snap/OF and not actually meet people.
