It's really weird cause there seems to be some concentrated hatred of MCU content lately. The narrative seems to suggest that the MCU is getting worse.

Even if you want to argue that Multiverse of Madness, Ms. Marvel, and She-Hulk aren't super strong... Thor 2, Iron Man 2, Incredible Hulk? The MCU has been arguably Inconsistent for much if its existence (hell I argue that Thor 1 and Captain America 1 is not that good either) and arguably the missteps of the first two phases are REALLY bleh compared to today.

If anything I think Disney is fine with taking a chance on some projects that aren't just designed for as much of a broad and boring audience as possible.

Yeah, that's where I'm kind of at with the MCU. I know that at worst, it'll be a 6/10 experience with some dumb jokes and fun action. It's like film fast food and that's not the worst thing in the world.

The issue isnt really that it stopped being good, more so it stopped being interesting.

I'm mostly just bored of it.

Even the stuff that's supposedly oh so different, like The Eternals, are not nearly different enough for me.

I'm really just kinda sick of superheroes in general, and am not excited for anything anymore. I heard The Boys is good, but I just don't give a shit to watch it, because it's still superheroes.

it's currently in a weird spot.

Like, lets compare the phases to a board game.

Phase 1 was like, taking the pieces out of the box and admiring each one as you go.

Phase 2 was setting up the board with those pieces, all like "look, it's one game. they go together!"

Phase 3 was actually playing the game.

Now, we've played the game. It's over, but we're gonna play another game. Phase 4 has, comparatively, felt like two phases at once in this analogy. We're packing up the old game at the same time we are unboxing the next and admiring each piece, except this time with everybody being fully aware that it all goes together, so there's a sense of "would you just hurry the fuck up and setup the board?"

There's been Thor 2 and Incredible Hulk apologists just showing up on my Twitter feed since Thor 4 came out/we started getting She Hulk trailers and I'm really tired of this rose colored glasses crap. Those movies are awful.

I might be more annoyed at them than people who insist TPM and AotC are good.

The best thing about the Eternals was the very end when a giant Alien showed up in the sky and yet it probably won't get talked about in any of the TV shows or movies and that's my problem with the MCU in a nutshell after Endgame. There's no stakes, there's no overall plot tying any of this together, its... just boring.

I prefer this interpretation of Hulk. Far more menacing.

We're seeing a lot of things happening at roughly the same time as well.

Like, think about phase 1 again. The Incredible Hulk, Thor, and Iron Man 2, take place within like a fuckin week(in some places literally overlapping), with the thawing of Steve Rogers not long after. This is ignoring that even in such a tight timeline it's generally said that Hulk takes place after IM2 (otherwise IM2 is between hulk and its own stinger, which is even weirder) despite being the earlier release.

Or looking at phases 2 and 3, where Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is nowhere near in sequence with the rest of the timeline, and is in fact just a few months after GotG 1.

I understand this has been a LOT of content, and released over about 3 years now, but that doesn't mean the timeframe in universe is 3 years, or even a year (i am reasonably sure it's been less than a year in universe), or that releases are in chronological order (in some cases we straight up KNOW that they aren't). I get it can be convoluted but there's already precedent for it to work this way, especially during a set-up phase where stories are largely isolated.

Ignoring the TV shows, I think Phase 4 has been the best yet, mainly because the films are becoming a bit more diverse in tone and style, and theyre letting directors put their stamps on the films. Black Widow is the only one thats business as usual, and it still has excellent performances (casting in the MCU is S-tier).

Pretty much this. The only thing I'm personally burnt out on are origin stories, which was the main reason why Eternals and Moon Knight didn't really grab me; fortunately Shang Chi was good enough to keep my attention, Ms. Marvel had the likeable family stuff / supporting cast to focus on instead of the tired-ass doomsday plot, and She-Hulk blessedly steamrolled through the actual origin in the first ep.
