any of you do almost everything by yourself and never go to a professional?

If you ask me to do anything other than change a flat or battery youre on your own.

I do everything myself.

Ill do very small things. Change wiper blades, headlights, taillights, etc.

My door lock actuator recently stopped working. I looked up a video on how to fix it. Once it go to the part that required me to remove the door panel, I was done with that. Not messing with entire door panels.

Yeah I could pretty much do anything short of an engine or transmission replacement. It's all piss easy when you have YouTube videos to guide you. Just takes time and patience.

On my 77 thunderbird I could change the oil/spark plugs/gaskets/filters myself.

My 2016 Toyota has everything under plastic covers I have to pop off and I honestly have no clue where anything is.

The most I'll do is change the brake pads

I can do routine stuff (topping up oil / wiper fluid), and I can change lightbulbs / fuses, replace the battery, or put the spare wheel on. Pretty clueless when it comes to the deeper mechanical shit though.

I'd say I'm pretty good. I've rebuilt an engine before.

I can do what I need for upkeep but this is my first modern car, everything else Ive owned has been 90s or earlier and they were much easier to work with.

I can change a tire, battery and oil but that's about it.

i can do some things myself, others i probably could but don't touch (brakes, etc). Pretty much anything under the hood i stay away from aside from basic filter changes

I'll leave it to the professionals (real professionals, not some clown who pretends to be a mechanic). Fuck working on cars.

Not good at all. I dislike cars and want as little to do with them as possible. Haven't even owned one in ten years.

I literally built my own car, from a box of scraps.

With the power of friendship, booze, and YouTube, I have made many repairs on my cars over the years. Gotta save that money.

I can change a tire, change my oil, boost a car, change a battery, change out air filters, check and top up fluis, and swap blown fuses.

Anything else is beyond me.
