My brain does a good job at picking out humiliating/unhappy moments to torture me with before bed and throughout the day. I haven't found it yet, but I don't care about the realism of goals; I'm particularly obstinate when I want to defy odds. In my case it was familial and then work abuse. Family hated me, then work bullied me for being sheltered. I'm not giving up though. I got comfortable with having a lot fewer expectations thrust upon me and not having to maintain relationships with people. Everyone kept to themselves and it was nice.
