Did 55-60 hour weeks for about 3 years, and took on extra responsibilities and got promoted to lead. Dropped to around 48 hours for a couple months, but we lost 3 people this month. I saw the writing on th wall, I was done. Director drove 4 hours to meet with me, and agreed to allow me to step down as lead, and created a part-time position for me because of how much I had done for the company. At 3 years, I was the second most senior employee at location open for 15 years. He told me that they don't expect people to make it long, so the fact that through all of it, I took on extra responsibilities and help take the location from class C to class A, that I earned that. Felt good.
