Colloquially, is your GoogleFu strong or weak?

Mine is weak; certainly there is a NON-branded word for this though... kinda like the invserse of Search Engine Optimization

Before Google started tuning and hiding massive results, yeah. They've actually changed a lot over the years. The advanced options for images ans everything. The time range search for youtube videos ans videos period used to be much more accurate. They've polluted even direct criteria searches with invalid propaganda and paid-for astroturfing.

Back in say 2010? You could find exactly anything if you had the right criteria. Even youtube is like this. You can literally word for word type in the video title and tags and it will keep some things suppressed. The worst part is they deleted all the batshit crazy conspiracy videos about "strange sounds around the world" or "world ending soon prepare"

Now, you can still find that stuff, but it's not like it was. There used to be a broad base of it with good production quality. Sure it was all nonsense, but I enjoyed watching it. But like with many liberties, we lose them because they're too "dangerous" to exist.

Man oh man, I miss my bullshit conspiracy videos. They were like tabloids 2.0. You didn't have to read about Batboy anymore, you could watch ministories about it. There were some really good ones about the Vegas shooting years ago too. It's like watching a movie. All these weirdos making shit up about how there's extra shooters and government co-op. They were like found footage films and I loooooove that genre. Omg my favorite. It's fun to suspend your disbelief and go down the rabbit hole.

Lok, one of the things you used to be able to do is find the most obscure sites on the net with Google search. Like my old Geocities site from years ago. I could put 3 strings of criteria only found on my page and it would immediately find it amidst the entire net. Aside from address changes, you can't do that anymore. You used to be able to find forum posts on obscure forums with just a snippet of the words said. You CAN but again... it's not like it was. There's a layer of padding that's filtering and censoring stuff I think. This is especially true with old memes from shitposting sites. You could simply type in the text around what was being said in image search and boom. 2 or 3 whole long image pages of just that. Now, that kinda shit might just be gone.

The internet now is just abysmal all around. That's the combo of big corporations + billions of normies getting their hands on it. Now everything is just centered around infinite disposable content and "engagement"
