If its a blatant grind then its very off putting.....

You grind it out.

I used to hate it as a kid, but it depends. Sometimes I can do it if I got something to listen to in the background or I can do it while doing work work or school work. Otherwise nah >_>

at first i think there's no way, it's impossible. then i think, i'll just give it my best shot and see what happens. and then eventually i've done it. sprinkle in a few meltdowns if it's really hard, like scarab lord

If the game's fun I'll get it eventually.
Payday 2 wants you to kill 658k enemies which I initially laughed at and wrote off but the game's really held up and been fun to play in bursts.

Now TF2's Destroy 1,000,000 robots achievement however, what the fuck.

I use to play OG Maplestory years and years ago and the grind in that game was on another fucking level. Grinding on a console JRPG is a fucking cake walk now.

Once a game gets to a point where the grind is no longer fun and feels more like an obligation then I stop playing it. I already have a job, one that actually pays me for my time, I don't need to grind out tedious kills or quests like some npc is my boss.

I know someone who has it legit, it's about 9k hours. I think he did most of it building bases and posing reskinned space guys in said bases. Oh and leaving the game on when he alt tabbed to something else.

I managed to get the achievement where you play on the same server as Garry legit. But I ain't ever gonna do that 9000 hour one

This! The grind before the Big Bang update was terrible. The max level was 200 and by level 120, it was taking me 10 hours to level up once. Hell, it might be even worse now with the level 300 cap.
