Frodo looks like he's the least resilient of hobbit to be entrusted to carry such ring.

Wasn't the whole deal of the story that the least apparently strong of the bunch ended up having the most inner strength?

Also you know Sam is asking the Ring for spice combos for his recipes inside a week.

Sam is the most resilient character in all of Middle Earth to the ring. This is true. Also, Frodo had a harder time than Bilbo, and Gollum in part because Sauron was much more powerful by the time the ring got to Frodo.

Sam carried it for what, a day? Less than a day? And Frodo carried it for months? Years? Sam pulled through in a tight spot, but I don't really think he'd do much better if he had to contend with it long-term.

Tolkien himself said Sam is the real hero of the story. Still, without Frodo Middle Earth would have been doomed. Sam had visions of taking over Mordor and making the world one huge garden after only a little bit. They both saved it together.

I do appreciate that the implication is that Frodo is resistant to the Ring because he's got shit-all going on with his life. :-P

"Chief hero". There are too many heroes to call one the "real" hero.

One of my favorite things to drop to friends when watching the films.

Also if Sam wasn't affected by the ring's power when Frodo was on his back, why didn't they just tie it to something else and just carry it into Mordor?

Better yet why didn't they just use a blimp

First time Sam holds the ring, he has a little trouble giving it back to Frodo. When Frodo first holds the ring he begs Gandalf to take it. Frodo was easily the most worthy to carry it. But Sam is still the GOAT tho

Sam was integral to getting the ring to Mount Doom, but nobody could have done what Frodo did. He shouldn't be discredited, especially when you factor in the book version of Frodo who is very different from the movie one.

Sam is and has always been the hero of the story.

All Frodo did for 3 movies was constantly complain about how hard everything is and say he's going to just give up. If Sam wasn't there bitch boy Frodo would have just laid down in a ditch and died somewhere. He was utterly useless.

No he didn't and no he wasn't. And that's illustrated even more clearly in the books, as I said.

Frodo had it for 17 years, before he went on the journey! His "Uncle" also was resistant to the ring, and kept it for literally 60 years... It corrupted most in weeks.

The whole thing was a corruption of the Hero's Journey --

Frodo had the "unusual power for 17 years before he left on the journey", and when he comes back Frodo comes back twisted, and unable to live as he once did -- after the journey is over, and it was not grand reason the ring got throw away it was because he was attacked by Gollum and literally lost the ring and part of his finger in the lava. (Lord of the Rings book Spoilers)
