I think it would be pretty weird for my significant other to be making sex bets with people even as a joke. I wouldn't immediately end it but probably would tell her I am uncomfortable with it.. and then if it continued I'd probably end it.

Of course for poly people it wouldn't really matter

This just sounds like you have security issues. I guess if it was a constant thing, sure. But a one-off joking around? I just wouldn't care, as I know she adores me and would never actually cheat.

Having been cheated on in the past, yeah, this is accurate. Hence, if the person I'm with has respect for me, she will refrain from joking about fucking other guys if I tell her I'm uncomfortable with it.

My hubby loves the lunches I fix for him and dinners I cook. I also take care of most of the tedious housework out of habit, stuff he absolutely hates doing. I stopped all that for 3 weeks after he joked about screwing a friend who was passing through town. Gay humor.

He was joking, I knew that. Doesn't matter.
It wasn't an appropriate joke to make between us. He knew that. And he doesn't do it anymore.

If you make yourself a big enough convenience in your partner's life, you get the authority to put your foot down on some things. He wanted commitment. That means never disrespecting each other by joking about it. Funny thing is, he brought it up with his mother and she grilled him over it, which was not the response he expected. Said he got off easy.
