I used to work with these two guys who were friends. Matt and John. John has a really cool job with a major sports team. Matt doesn't work anymore and lives with his parents. When we were working together, he got a really nice car but totaled it in an accident.

Despite not being involved in the accident, I'm convinced John would not have the job he has now if Matt had not got into an accident and lost his car. I base this on a series of events that happened after since they're friendship drifted away.

Depends where you draw the line between direct and indirect. I've had a few friends where I helped them prepare for application into specific competitive training programs or jobs who have been able to then change career directions as a result.

I actually feel bad for him. He was part of a big circle of friends with John and it's like they all stopped contact with him. I see Matt from time to time and it sucks because it just looks like he's lonely. Its kinda sad but I'm a loner with little friends so it's like whatever to me
