Like, personally, I would have approved it but put the safe use places all underground so people wouldn't see them. Like, literally build bunkers for people to safely do drugs in. I just wouldn't want mothers pushing baby strollers in front of the safe use sites. It's a bad look.

Of course NIMBYism is the way you go. "It's a bad look" who the *fuck* cares. Treat people that need treatment. If Karen doesn't like it, fuck her.

Sadly, you need Karen to vote for politicians who approve of these things.

We can hate on how it's horrid that aesthetics dictate politics, and we should adamantly talk about why it's bad to let aesthetics drive concern about these things, but it absolutely does and it's crazy to ignore it at this point.

yea, at the end of the day, people don't want drug dens next to the target. It's not something that motivates voters. No one wants to explain to their little Sally why Mr. Philips is tripping on bath salts in broad daylight.

Anyways, it'd be somewhere discrete to protect the people using it more than anything.

Safe injection sites aren't the scenario you laid out. They are a solution to that scenario. They are buildings with private rooms with medical supervision. Not an open area with that is visible to the public.

Your scenario is happening now without safe injection site. Spend a day in the Bay and you'll see how bad we actually need these sites.
