This happened to an Overwatch streamer named SVB. I dont know if this was posted since it happened 9-10 days ago. A 14 year old boy, who pretended to be a 16 year old girl, decided to make a fake Twitter account, fake discord images and write a twitlonger about how this Overwatch streamer groomed her and had her send him nude photos.

After this picked up major steam throughout Twitter and the community, this person comes out and said this was all fake. He did this to prove a point that its very easy to lie about these kind of things under a fake account and ruin the life of someone online, He said he targeted SVB because he was one of the nicest people in the community to prove his point further. Then he deleted his Twitter account.

This kind of thing is obviously awful and does tremendous damage across the board. Pretending to be a victim online to ruin someones life is awful no matter if you came clean about it or not. Also, other people now know it 100% works and will use it. This just encourages this behavior.

There is also the other side that is probably even worse. This kid now just invalidated on some level true victims of this kind of thing from the past to the future. It was already hard for victims to come forward but now it will be even harder because this kid proved that it can be faked.
