I recently decided to start up my PS3 and download a buncha PS1 classics that Id previously purchased. Which led to me utilizing the search function in the PS Store.

Id forgotten how horrible that thing was. How was that their interface, rather than a standard keyboard

It wasn't always like that, it was a normal search bar like with the ps4. But then they released an update, I don't know when, maybe 3 or 4 years ago, they changed it up as if it was an intentional way to discourage people from using ps3 and "upgrading" to a ps4 or higher.

It sucks on PS4 too.

i bought a PS4 one year after launch and it was using this search system for about 5 years

Exactly, it's like they switched it up. I remember getting a ps4 and was bewildered at the terrible search system and wanted to go back to my ps3. Then they gave the ps4 the normal ps3 search system and the ps3 the weird a-b-c search system. It felt like a conspiracy that no one else was talking about and I don't have the documentation to prove what transpired but it did

The concept wasn't that bad but because the store UI and coding was so horrendous even Nintendo would cringe at it, performance made doing anything a hassle.

The old UI was shockingly more efficient than the current glitchy PS4 one on PS3 >__>

Playstation's storefront as a whole is absolute garbage
