At this point, any guns I would get are for collecting rather than use.

I've never owned a gun other than a couple of pellet guns when I was younger. I don't really see myself owning one anytime soon.

I have a couple of friends with guns though, so I've shot a few before.

In theory sure, but in practice have you been paying attention? Republicans have realized they really don't have to play by the rules and can do whatever they want.
It's also kind of pointless to try and change anything when it's ultimately The Nine (SC) who make all the decisions. Public opinion overwhelmingly is in favor of abortion, we saw how much that matters.
I'm not advocating violence, but RvW should have been a wakeup call for everyone. You can literally wake up one day and have your rights stripped, and let's not forget they're also viewing gay and interracial marriage through the same lens. What will you do if you wake up one day to learn your marriage is null, void, and possibly even illegal?

Sure, but my concern is many of them are just waiting for the "all clear" to go ahead and start ridding their neighborhoods of "woke" people. I live in Cornfuck Iowa, these people exist and are just as crazy as they're portrayed and it's a point of pride for them. Months ago I stopped and asked directions to a shooting range I hadn't been to before, and honestly to God the guy says, verbatim, "training for war with the DEMOCRATS huh? Great we need more like you!"

Wouldn't be safe with one around currently, would need several advancements in the area of mental health.

Odds I'd need one for defense where I currently live are next to 0%, and I don't go enough places to raise it much.

I have a 22 year old Katana that is sharp as a butter knife.

I've beat the shit out of everything with it over the years.

Been too lazy to file permits and save money for a real gun.

Want a S&W 4506... but that's like a $1000 gun at best.

Could easily get a 12 pump for around $250.

But who lugs around a pump while walking the streets?

Very true. Minorities and women should be armed, if they choose to be. Even people who don't fit that group should probably have weapons I guess, because like you said no one is really safe from having their rights stripped away.

I just feel like it's easier to fall back on that because it takes less political will, and doing so isn't going to solve the problem, especially if republicans keep doing what they are doing through official channels. And it could very well be that they keep their strangle hold on these channels and the entire battle goes on without guns. At that point people will have guns but that won't even be the game that the republicans are playing.

But in terms of random violence and stuff as a result of all of this, I guess it makes sense for people to be armed.

These people have been actively calling for violence against the LGBTQ community, minorities,and now just plain old democrats or anyone who supports either of the aforementioned groups. Not just people on the street either. Pundits with huge levels of influence and politicians actively running gor office as well.

The problem people have to remember is this, if one side of a conflict wants violence, you have violence. It's not like if you refuse to participate or fight against them they'll stop assaulting or killing you. Anyone who can watch the trajectory of right wing rhetoric and pretend it leads to anywhere other than the death of their opponents is fooling themselves. Buy a weapon, learn first aid, stockpile food and supplies, fucking do something so that when the time comes you can be of help to the oppressed.

Sad but true. Believe me I would prefer diplomacy over a civil freaking war, but every day it looks like that ship has sailed and is not returning to shore. Hope for the best, plan for the worst. All I know is that if shit does collapse or Trump gets back in power, I am surrounded by people who will blame me for the state of the country and the last 4 years. And they're very, very well armed.

Exactly this. Russia is getting mollywhomped by Ukraine because (among other factors) their people were ready (as well as they could be) for war. Not just their army, their people.

Most people I work with are armed.

They never had to pull it on anyone or they say.

But you never know when the time will come.

Why shouldn't he have them? If someone has malicious intent and violence in their hearts it doesn't make that much of a difference whether they have 1 gun or 100. Even most mass shooters tend to stick to just one weapon even when they bring multiples along.

I have 5 but not really looking to get any more.

23 I think. Can't store anymore and no room for a bigger safe in my current house so I'll probably not buy or build anything more for a while with one exception - I have one .22LR suppressor with no host. I want to buy a 4.5" Volquartsen Scorpion, they just came out with a new model that is milled for optic mounting without a rail.

Other than that I think I have every firearm situation covered. My only other dream gun is some sort of MP5 clone.

Of course it is out there but it's whatever I'm not crying for not owning one. It's more for educational purposes like studying gun anatomy, handling and safety logic which you can get from contacting a local police dept in the city.

Need? I honestly only really need a few of them, but I like to collect guns.

The XD was my first purchase, and its been fairly reliable but Ive recently begun to have feed issues that I think might be magazine related. So, Im working that out this weekend.

The P2022, I always wanted a Sig; theyre beautifully crafted weaponry, and the 226 was entirely too expensive at the time.

The Mosquito is a .22, so I bought it as an easier way to teach my wife to shoot.

The CCP was originally my sisters, but she didnt want it anymore, so I bought it from her. Its a good compact carry gun, though its a bitch to disassemble.

I inherited the SKS, .30-06, and muzzleloader from my dad.

I hunt with the .30-06 and muzzleloader in their respective seasons, which is even more crucial now with the cost of everything rising.

The AK, I bought when AKs were much cheaper than ARs. I paid like $700 when the most rudimentary AR was almost 1k (Obama gun scare days).

And the Saint is for home defense/work. Same as the M&P.
