Professor Chad in Pokemon Violet is gonna be cool.

But Scarlet has "that legendary that looks like it has a wheel built in but it doesn't" - the violet legendary has wheels like a nerd.

Not really excited for either. Whether I buy either one depends on what the campaign looks like because if I gave two fucks about PVP I'd just play the free simulators.

Main turn-off from getting SwSh was hearing that the routes were all essentially straight lines with no exploration and that there were only two areas in the game where you could use an escape rope.

I want more grueling caves and labyrinthine forests to explore that stretch my resources thin, and then I finally get out with a party with like 10% of their collective HP left lol

Well good news! Scarlet and Violet are completely open world. No more strait lines, now you can go in any direction you want, as far as you want (within the game's borders of course.)

Eh... not really. I'll see what reviews say about the game once it releases, but Pokmon really needs to step up it's games.

I'm far more excited about Palworld and Dokev than a new Pokmon game.

Yeah this doesn't get my hopes up lol. All the gameplay I saw of SwSh's wild area looked boring as hell, so unless they've had a drastic change in design philosophy when it comes to open world level design I'm still reserving any excitement until I see the game in action. >_>

This is probably because I like older RPGs but I never cared much for level scaling. What's the point in tackling late content underleveled if the earlier content is just going to catch up to me anyways?

Also it's just another element I have no faith in this brand for. SwSh didn't let you catch Pokemon that were too high of a level, and BDSM drastically reduced the catch rate of any Pokemon in the underground that was a higher level than you. So you were encouraged not to overlevel if you wanted to catch anything but the content scaled with you so you couldn't avoid overlevelling anyways. >__>
