The only organisms on Earth that can even remotely fit this are Archaea, and even they are clearly related to at least Eukarya.

They can live longer, it's just that males die soon after they inseminate a female, and females die after successful spawning.

This scientific paper published in a journal, agrees with you:

"The transformative genes leading from the consensus ancestral Nautilus (e.g. Nautilus pompilius) to the common Cuttlefish (Sepia officinalis) to Squid (Loligo vulgaris) to the common Octopus (Octopus vulgaris) are not easily to be found in any pre-existing life form it is plausible then to suggest they seem to be borrowed from a far distant future in terms of terrestrial evolution, or more realistically from the cosmos at large. Such an extraterrestrial origin as an explanation of emergence of course runs counter to the prevailing dominant paradigm."-- https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0079610718300798

They arent really that weird. All the weirdness comes from them evolving complicated eyes and nervous systems independently of the vertebrates.

They are capable of being social: rarely you see something like Octlantis where lots of them live relatively peacefully in high density. They also sometimes cooperate with fish on hunts. But they are mostly solitary.

I presume they need all that brain power to control all those limbs without joints or bones.

Like we humans only have so many joints that we can control and its hard enough for us to control them at the same time doing different things. Just like drums and piano for example, one hand faster, one hand slow, doing different things. It takes a lot of practice and muscle memory.

Never mind the jointless tentacles, controlling all those suction cups. Just imagine if we suddenly grew another set of arms like machamp. Would our brain even have the capacity to control them?

Cephlapods are weird in a way that it's hard to gauge what they are thinking at times, they're practically alien. Even my betta fish I can see his intent before he moves (octopus and squid can't move their eyes right?). Cephlapods just do shit and you'd be like "Well shit, that required a complex thought process".

Octopuses are extremely efficient killers and also extremely territorial. What makes you think they wouldnt just do the same thing humans have done?

We dont know what another species would develop into after millions of years.
