Not often. It depends on the game. Mostly just with games that have missables.

Yes. I have more fun hacking the game with exploits than just playing it. Minimum item obtain times, exp and money farming, secret weapons and final skills. I like having it the first time since I rarely replay games.

Kinda agree with this, plus my backlog is so big I like to get through games quick

This, used Chuggaconroy's playthrough of Xenoblade Chronicles to help me do my 100% run of it after playing through it blind for my first run of the game.

Legend of Zelda: twilight princess, I couldnt figure out for the life of me what I was supposed to do to melt some giant iceberg. I mustve spent 20+ hours running around the world trying everything until I finally resorted to a video walk-through.

After watching the video, I realized that I never wouldve figured it out on my own.

Rarely, if I've beaten the ass out of a game and have nothing left to conquer. I think the last time that happened was in THUG1.

Generally, nowadays I don't have to.

But I am stuck in Stray...I don't want to cheat, but I might have to.

I'm using one to go through FFX right now. I beat it once before mostly own my own, but there's a lot to miss and I'd definitely miss it.

If I know it's the kind of game that will pull that "there's this super useful item that you can either pick up easily from a chest in the corner at the start of the game, or you'll have to defeat the post endgame optional boss to get" bullshit, then i will look up guides

I always check for completely missable shit because that's always infuriating. Beyond that, it depends on the game. If there exists an optimal route to experience the game without repetitive bullshit, then I might use that.
