I remember playing Banjo Kazooie for the first time at Sears

I kinda wish stores with game kiosks actually played games still. I think only switch and 3ds kiosks still do this but xbox and ps dont do this as often anymore or they just play videos now

Sears doesn't sell much of anything these days.

One of my favorite memories was playing one of those things that had a DK64 demo on it. Some teenagers came up and one of them said "what happens when i press this button?" (talking about the reset button).

He pressed it and it reset what i was doing. The kid and his friends started laughing. My dad was at the end of the aisle and saw this entire thing take place and bolted at the kid who did it and clapped his head against the side of the shelving and tore his face open. I thought it was the funniest shit ever because of the moaning sounds he made from the floor.

My dad was always so fucking angry. Still is.

I remember playing the demo of Wind Waker so many times at Best Buy.

Miss the days when you could actually play games at stores

As a kid the Sears at the mall had an NES demo kiosk with a dozen games loaded in it. Too bad the game selection button was always broken so the only game you could play was Friday the 13th.

I remember seeing Super Punchout and Illusion of Gaia at a local Heilig-Meyers like in 94 or something. They were selling both games for around 90 dollars.

It was weird back then. Random stores seemed to keep small video game sections but with bigger than normal markup.

department stores had shitty selections though.

Used to get demo discs in magazines and stuff. That was a cool time.

Sears was the place I found games I didn't know existed, like a lot of compilation games of older systems. Intellivision collection, Taito Legends 1&2, SNK arcade classics.

I remember playing Smash Bros a lot while my parents shopped around Macy's
