I had a neighbor from Texas that showed me Chamillionaire, Paul wall, lil Keke and stuff before they got big. It's good music

That's funny. Cause this dude wasn't my neighbor, but his family was. I met him at school before knowing that tho. I showed him Royce Da 5'9". Not even realizing I was also representing where I was from tho.

Dr. Dre
Snoop Dogg

Tupacs best albums came after 94
Wu Tang had much better solo albums in the mid 90s then 36 Chambers
Ice Cube/ DJ Quick meh
2001>Chronic

Snoop and ATCQ are the only artist on that list that didnt have better albums later in their career.

No, maybe radio rap..

Early 2000s brought us

Lupe
Chamillionaire
Early Kanye
The Game
Three Six
Juelz Santana
50 Cent
MURS

And more. But all of those listed put out heat in that time
This! Not to mention the fact that 2000-2005 was the time period where we got The Blueprint and The Black Album from Jay-Z, Stillmatic and God's Son from Nas, Stankonia from Outcast, Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show from Eminem and the list goes on. There were so many classic albums released in that time.

Not to mention. Plenty of rappers talk about popping pills as an acknowledgement of an addiction they currently have. Which is extremely interesting when it's one the most relevant addictions of our current times. Getting insight from artists about the dangers and lows of popping pills is super welcomed. They obviously has a very shallow understanding of modern hip hop and doesn't actually care. Otherwise they'd understand the disservice they're doing it and the ignorance on display.

Of course, unless he's talking strictly mainstream. Which, I don't even know what's mainstream and what isn't anymore. But generalizing a whole genre because of what the mainstream is doing also never sat completely right with me either. I might of did it earlier with snap music, but I feel like the context I gave made ot more obvious I was only talking about mainstream.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

Chamillionaire with his rap money got into making smart investments. Like having his own record label, investing in a company that made self-driving tech that was then later sold to GM for $1 Billion. Invested early with Lyft. Before Ring was sold to Amazon, he invested in that too. There are more that he did that big companies eventually bought off making him even more rich.

Paul Wall is still strong in the Hip Hop game, but when it comes to grills (specifically diamonds ones) he started that trend. It got so big that he also owns a jewelry shop that still makes bank to this day.

I mean i dont think one era is better than another. I think its different to say that rap sucked during that time when we were getting classic albums for a while then

Tired of every post bringing up the 90s just seemingly forgetting Three 6 Mafia. They made the hardest Rap coming out at the time. Possibly the hardest music ever.

Can't bring up hardest rappers and omit Onyx. Those dudes kept on shooting up the Source Awards and they deserve the proper respect.
