it already happens, i had to drop trow every year for sports and nobody had a problem and it was all done professionally

The proposed rules would prohibit any trans athlete from competing with cisgender girls or women. It also has a verification requirement, if someone is accused or suspected of being trans.

If someone is suspected to be transgender, she must go through evaluations of her external and internal genitalia, testosterone levels and genetic makeup.

I get youre being disingenuous and just trolling because you dislike trans people, but in light of the fact that theres only one trans athlete in the state, this virtually only effects cis girls and women of high school or college age.

Off topic kinda but It made me wonder. If a man gets a proper physical it requires the old squeeze the balls and cough bit. Whatever it is they are looking for what's the equivalent for women?

I brought it up cause technically I was supposed to have that done to play football. My doctor just checked basic vitals and called it a day. Guess he didn't wanna see a 12 year Olds balls.

Had to go through it for my job though. Idk if woulda been more awkward if I was straight or not. Especially since the doctor was goof looking.

For the record I'm against this. Unless there is a actual medical reason to need to see genitalia then it shouldn't be done. If they really wanna go this route wouldn't there be some other way of determining birth sex?

I'm just curious if there is a equivalent for women on the physical

that being said, theres gotta be checks and balances in the grey areas of society we have today, and this brings light to those sorts of things

its equivalent to doing an age check on someone in school sports who they suspect being over the age limit, i wonder how often that actually happene

No one is twisting things the way youre describing. They already know who the one trans girl athlete is, she would be banned outright, that leaves only cis girls who could be subjected to your just a GP visit and whatever that entails, merely by being accused of being trans by other athletes, coaches, parents, et cetera. If this had passed, to think it wouldnt be used against cis girls in corrupt, harassing, and vindictive ways is either pure navet or utter disingenuousness. Genital checks are not at present a standard feature of a routine physical, and not having read the full bill its unclear if the duty to perform these checks will be relegated to the childs GP or if it will fall only to specific doctors. At the moment, its all an obtuse and unnecessary way to prevent a SINGLE trans girl from playing softball.

None of that sounds like a simple box check, especially if the doctors performing the tests are under strict scrutiny about their methods of detection. If there is a subset of state specified doctors performing the checks, how do you prevent predators like Larry Nassar from seeking these positions if performing internal genital checks is a state mandate? What does this bill protect cis girls from, how does it protect them, does it protect them at the expense of other things they should have even greater protections from?

Yeah, genetic testing is more invasive than just "drop your drawers" and having to do that at all because of an accusation is itself bullshit.

The article in the OP is wrong about the check requiring all of those things, it lists those things as being the only acceptable things to draw the conclusion from so as to specifically rule out anything non-physical and its a general signed statement from a physician.

They could just add another checkbox on the physical form: Biological ___Male ____Female

Anyone with questions could just turn to the physical form that the school has on file. Asking for another evaluation mid-season is a bit much.
