I went on a bus tour in Savannah that used terms like "Confederate heroes" and had a surprisingly upbeat description of the lives of slaves. For example, after "work" they were allowed to go and build some of these beautiful churches, so that they could also enjoy church services. Then we drove by some fields where our guide described them having a good ole time singing in the fields. Shit was insane --- I don't believe in belts.
