Yeah 3 hrs, but it didn't need to be.

Just when you think it's ending...it hasn't even done the major thing yet.

Last half hour feels a little tacked on, but overall it's worth every second.

3 hours ill never get back, i would have to be paid to ever watch it again

Therell come a point halfway where you can basically just fast forward about 40min but otherwise a very solid film

Way too much untrimmed fat it makes the notion of a 7/10 "okay" Batman movie seem like garbage.

I really liked Pattinson in the role but yah the movie dragged for me.

Also this version of the Riddler is stupid.

I'm still more amazed that a film that long suddenly had never before mentioned dire stakes about two hours and fifteen minutes into the runtime with zero setup or foreshadowing for it.

Honestly felt like the last half hour+ was tacked on to make the movie have grander stakes with no attempt to reconcile it with the rest of the plot.

It was absolutely awful.

there was a decent 90 minute movie in that 3 hour long boring mess.

about six different times you think its ending and youre like thank god and then it just KEEPS GOING

Fucking seriously

I'm dead certain the thing with Falcone was the actual original ending but concluding a Batman movie on that note was far too radical after following up the last few incoherent Snyder setpieces and the just as dumb TDKR.

Star Wars called, they're sending a cease and desist regarding their hallway scene

In regard to the IMDB score (8.7 I believe), slightly overrated imo.

I feel like Paul Dano has to be wheeled on and off set in a maximum security cage so he doesn't hurt anyone until the cameras are on.

He always plays such unhinged characters.

Great movie overall. I agree that the ending was iffy, and had the stink of studio mandate. Could've been improved tenfold if they'd simply done away with the flooding angle and just had the climax be the Riddler sending his cultists to assassinate the mayor-elect (also do away with that indoor stadium venue; it was too colorful and modern-tech, clashed with the rest of the movie's visual tone).

Runtime didn't bother me. Plenty of my all-time favorite movies clock in at, near, or over 3 hours (The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly is one of those movies where no one ever seems to realize that it's just a couple minutes shy of a 3-hour runtime).

the dark knight was also way too long

I literally watched the first few scenes and lost interest immediately around the time he gets his first clue.

Regarding the tone shift

I think it was a visual storytelling tool to show that Bella Real is supposed to be a clashing tonal change for Gotham. Where Mitchell had been the corrupt, incumbent of 4 terms that had introduced minimal actual changes and let the city devolve to the point where people like The Riddler could grow into the villains that they do, Real was being painted as the way forward (into the future)
