Why is this? One, I dont really drop my phone. Two, phones are a lot tougher than they used to be.

I use one for my pixel since they're really thin, making me accidentally press something on the sides all the time or knocking the volume buttons

This, and also the cases offer a degree of customization, as opposed to just being stuck with black/grey/white.

I still use them as my phone feels way too small without it

I've never used a case.

My last phone did break when I dropped it on the driveway though.

I stopped using screen protectors a few phones ago, and I was about to go caseless for my current phone, but I found it was too slippery so I got the thinnest case I could get that had some grip to it.

Same reasons as TC, phones areuch more durable than they used to be.

I have a case cause Im clumsy, have been all my life. Its saved me all but one drop (where the scream landed on a brick corner. Nothing was going to save it that time). I have some cases that have some epic cracks in them, but the phone is ok (minus maybe the vibrate function dying).

If you went places, you'd realize a case is good to have.

I drop my phone like once a day. I have a lot of damage on my current phone case and screen protector.

I use cases because they allow me to customize the look of my phone more and because they make it easier to hold. I don't use cases to protect my phone from drops, I actually drop my phone all the time but that's now why I use a case.

I uses casea on all my phone, starting in 2009 with my Motorolla Droid X, I've never had a cracked screen.

I doubt any phone made these days would get damaged from a fall of only 3.5 to 4 feet onto wood or tile flooring. But the whole world isn't made of just those materials nor is 4ft the distance that phones will reach terminal velocity if dropped.

The world contains rocks, asphalt, and concrete, and many people are as tall as 6ft or more which means that having butterfingers at the wrong moment can be especially devastating to uncased phones.

I fell once tripping due to elevation being lower than I thought once, with an Iphone eleven in my hand, so it unfortunately broke my fall, and it had a case on it. Still cracked really badly. When do these stronger phones started? Cause the 11 cracked badly after 1 fall.

I stopped using cases for a while since I never drop my phones. But now I have a case because it doubles as my wallet. 3 card slots, plus a spot for a little bit of cash. One less thing I have to keep in my pockets now.

I still prefer cases & screen protectors.

It's far cheaper to replace a screen protector or phone case than to replace the entire phone.

Whenever some requests a new feature or enhancement I require use cases.

I used to not use them, but then I dropped my old Galaxy S8 on the leg of my office chair and cracked the back. Now I use a thin case. Does it help much? Probably not, but it makes me feel better lol. It also gives me a better grip.

Ever since iPhone 3G I have known cases and screen protectors are there for when you drop your phone, it falls, or someone bumps it and it falls.

My 20 FE can take a fucking beating
