I don't think she's sick, since she isn't lethargic and still has her normal mannerisms, but I don't think she's eaten anything on her own, and the couple times I've tried to hand-feed her, she's taken a nibble and then it's fallen out of her mouth like she's having trouble chewing it. I wondered if there's something wrong with one of her teeth, but she doesn't react with any pain when I feel around the sides of her mouth and her chin, and she'll still chew on toys and the like. She's also recently been attacked by something that tried to bite her tail off, as she's got 2 teeth punctures and now a bald section (from licking it) at the base of her tail. She has pancreatitis, and might have some string or hair or something in her intestines, but they couldn't tell and were going to take another x-ray. They'll keep her overnight and give her some medication, and hopefully she'll be alright tomorrow. Bubba is currently suffering from an ear issue, and the vet gave me some drops to put in his ears. I got the first two doses in with some increasing difficulty, but anytime I went near the fridge today he bolted and hid. Any advice on what to do to get him to chill? I would coax him out with a treat or something, then wrap him in a purrito so you can apply. He's not gonna like it. When there was this awful noise followed by a series of events. It was hard to see, but an owl (or other large bird, but prob an owl) attacked an adult blue jay. The blue jay was squalling as it was carried from the very back yard to the front yard into a tree. The cats homed in with 5-6 climbing the tree. The owl ditched the blue jay, and then Cinder grabbed the blue jay, carrying it back to the backyard still alive. Then 6 of the cats circled around waiting, as Cinder eventually killed and ate the entire thing minus a few feathers. The whole time Sofie was aggressively demanding pets. Now the problem is that she smells like the vet, so Smoky doesn't recognize her scent anymore and is hissing/growling when she gets close. There's no aggression, no clawing or lashing out or anything, but it's still a bit disheartening to see. I will never forget that when I put Lola on the exam table so the vet could take her to the back to prep the IV, Lola walked over and put her head between my arm and chest, as if to say I love you, goodbye.
