It's a mix of religious fervor advocating this stuff (everything is life or death because of your soul and dying isn't bad if it's for God and killing sinners is okay for them because Jesus) and bigotry mixed together. Throw in the ridiculous nationalist bullshit and persecution complexes the groups all breed and you've got people who think nothing of calling for the deaths of those they dislike and don't understand.
