ALL retail brand socks are tight and stringy now.

I purchased Gold Toe, once the leader in comfort, and it's like trying to fit a little girl's leggings on a grown man's feet. I see my skin between the threads. It pinches so much that I ran out and purchased a pair of Hanes. They're slightly more comfortable, but still tight and stringy compared to what they used to be.

I know rich people don't wear fucking Grinch socks. Do they get custom made socks all the time?

When a restaurant shrinks the proportions of their food, you can stop eating at that restaurant and go to a different one that'll give you the same amount as before. Not so with socks. They're all cost-cutting, ankle-strangling pieces of crap with 70% of the fabric they used to have. I'll pay more. Charge me $50 for a package of 6 socks. I'll wear them 'til they fall apart. But don't tell me, "This is the new quality standard. DEAL WITH IT."

Haha. You are right, we are in the skinny jeans phase of socks right now.

I haven't done basic white crew socks for a while. Most of my signs are running socks from sportswear brands. The quality and fit is so much better.

Ive had good luck getting socks off Amazon lately. Used to be a Kohls/Goldtoe man myself, but noticed the quality issues youve mentioned here and made the switch.

Wander socks on amazon have been great for me. Particularly because they offer 9-12 size, whereas most companies offer 6-12 which is too tight if you have grown man feet.

Can also confirm Wander is decent. I have ankle high ones from them

I buy hanes even though the quality is not like it used to be. Gonna try wander socks and some of the other recommendations mentioned on here. I prefer ankle length

I just buy the cheap black socks at Dollar General.

I only buy black socks if dress socks for dress shoes since I usually wear sports shoes or comfort shoes like new balance
