The tv episodes span the whole saga parts 1 and 2. Before and after Raoh. The story is slightly different than the OVAs as far as how certain battles are told. Slight differences in the Souther and Raoh content. It's way less compressed and showcases side characters way better. It's long, but I'd watch it all. The 2nd story on the other island is quick so make sure not to skip through it. It's all quality. Little things like how he meets Lin, etc change. I prefer the original TV episode narrative the best. The dramatization of the major battles is usually better in the OVAs though. There are also some shitty localizations for the OVAs, but not sure if all subs are like that. Some straight up change what Ken says to the point of it being lame. They seem to try and make him less vengeful and dull his lines. --- "Torture experiments. We're all monkeys." "They hurt you?"
