I bought a laptop on clearance recently and I've opened it up and the stock SSD it came with is a Gen 3, so I'm assuming the slot itself is as well (I don't think there's a way to tell otherwise?)

Anyways I plan to put a 1 TB SSD into this thing to replace the stock one, Gen 4 would work but just gets capped to Gen 3 speeds, right?

Honestly this laptop was too cheap for me to consider going hunting for a model that is a Gen 4 SSD >_>
