But then they own the "Chappelles Show DVD" without a blink or a second thought of just how much that show mocked black society and black people, who are way more "in a bad place" than any other minority.

He literally stopped making the show because he noticed those jokes were becoming more and more offensive "laugh at, not laugh with" types of jokes. Then he turns around and makes being anti-trans his new schtick. Dave's a hypocrite, and anyone that can't tell the parallels between his old show and his new routine is a fucking idiot.

Bedard says Chappelle was also bothered by a crew member laughing at a racially-related skit that involved Chappelle being dressed in blackface, and Chappelle really was bothered by the laughter. It felt like the crew member was laughing at him, not with him, by the sound of the laugh. He started to feel like the show sometimes reinforced racial stereotypes instead of satirizing them, and he felt ashamed since some of his jokes were having an effect he did not intend.

Uh no. Let me, as a black man, tell you that you are comparing apples to oranges. Dave's comedy often made fun of white people just as much as it made fun of black people, and there were usually hints of social commentary and satire in there that made it easy to relate to. In many of his smarter or more clever skits, often times the butt of the joke wasn't actually black people, but rather racists and racial stereotypes. Black people weren't the butt of jokes like the racial draft. Racial stereotypes were. The whole thing that makes it funny is the absurdity of literally declaring somebody another race because of superficial attributes like knowing how to rap or watching kung-fu movies. Not "har har Tiger Woods isn't black". You kinda missed the point if that's your take on it.

What Dave did not do back then was dedicate an entire special to nothing but insults to an entire community and literally pinning the death of his friend on that community as a way to guilt them for finding his comedy offensive.
