Makes you really wonder if it's done legitimately or not.

Speedrunning a game doesn't appeal to me and would probably suck out the fun of it.

There's specifically things called "tool assisted speedruns" as well as glitch less or 100% there's dozens of categories for them.

From what I've seen they tend to use exploits

For me a true speed run is earned by playing normally

Both categories exist, and records are generally kept seperately.

Fun Fact: Legit speedrunners of Super Mario Bros are pretty damn close to TAS runs.

Always cracks me up when people turn their noses up at runs with exploits and glitches like that's all there is.

I appreciate both for what they are, specially if the exploits are tricky to pull off.

But I admit, I am more impressed when they play the game as it was meant to be played, without glitches and exploits. Kill all the enemies, get all secrets, etc.

Yeah, that for me is the only legit speed run, exploits make speed runs less valid

Any % and glitch runs are just as valid as a glitches run.

OoT runs are so fun to watch. Watching them set up some of the stuff is so insane. How people find these things is a complete mystery to me.

Yeah, I don't watch many speedruns but normal and TAS/glitch ones can both be entertaining.

I like the blindfolded runs.

I decided to see how fast I could complete Donkey Kong Country at 101% one day.
1h 19 min.
I decided to try again, thinking that I could probably do it some minutes faster.
1 h 3 min.
Then I just had to see if I could get it down below one hour.
57 minutes. Glitchless.
It felt so good.
