i was a WoW player for what, 13 years, and this year i decided to hop over to FF14 because well everyone else was doing it also cat girls.

there are still some wonky systems, like im trying to gear up for higher end raids and i have to:
do the raid to get a weekly token/currency
buy a weapon with it
use another token i got to buy an upgrade piece
use that upgrade piece to buy a another token
exchange the weapon and that token to buy the upgraded weapon

i dont even think i recalled it correctly.

but end game of WoW, if you aren't raiding, is so dull. you either have to grind out rep doing dumb world quests so you can get dumb pets, or... thats it. i remember reaching the end of the story in shadowlands going "i dont like any of these rewards, i dont care about raiding or dungeons, what else can i work on? hm nothing guess im done until the next patch."

but in FF14, after 400 hours, i feel like ive done maybe 5% of the content available in the game. ive been doing old raids, old grinds for weapons, unlocking flying in areas, working on my hunting log, challenge logs, leveling jobs, etc. its amazing.

Yeah, 14 has a lot of content, there's almost always something to do or something new to try.

(I also have no clue how to get high end gear, because I don't bother with that stuff. Looks tedious, though.)

It definitely is a good game, hard for me to get into it though

Half of it just comes from roulettes as you get tomes to buy it.

also the story is so good. in WoW, 90% of the villians is

"i was a dude, but then i got touched by the green/purple/red glow and now im an asshole."

but in FF, except for one dude, they all have solid motivations and backstory that make sense.

especially when some join the good side. in WoW, people still make fun of the whole WoD "Dranaor is free!' shit when Garrosh was literally the ones trying to enslave the planet. but it makes sense when baddies join you, because they dont just flip over like it. they'll take the time to carefully craft the story in a way to make sense that they would join you.

I def need to get more tomestones for when the next set of raids comes out, cuz I know my iLv will not reach the requirement as is.

Relic weapons are basically just glamours. They are only relevant raidwise on the last tier and only for a brief amount of time. The hardcore raiders will have already beaten all the fights by the time anyone gets one.

Anyways, for Endwalker next tier is not the last raid tier.
