"Chauvins plea agreement called for a 20- to 25-year sentence and for him to serve the federal sentence at the same time as the state one in federal prison, The Associated Press reported.

He has already been sentenced to 270 months, minus time served, which equals about 22-and-a-half years in prison."

So this effectively added no time to his sentence. Explains why he accepted the plea.

It's about compromise. For every black person killed by police Chauvin gets 3/5 of a year added to his sentence.

What was his original sentence? Wasn't it like 20 years?
It says this one is served in parallel w/ that sentence, so it seems like nothing changed other than it taking both a corrupt President AND a corrupt Governor to pardon him out of prison, now. Which...considering how Trump handled pardons and Govs like Blevins did...I guess double-protection is worthwhile...

I mean let's be honest here, Chauvin is gonna be treated like a martyr by any prison guard in the US

It's 20 on top of everything else, which is a reminder that the US's criminal "justice" system has more in common with developing nations than developed nations. He was already serving a 22.5 year sentence, which is already a good length.

The elite will give you some impressive powers, and forgive your offenses against the poor masses just so long as youre doing their will; protecting them and their property/businesses

But

The moment the masses rise up and become an actual threat, theyll gladly sacrifice you to them.

like, I'm not defending Chauvin in any way - I'm just saying that this wasn't murder 1, so I would think the maximum penalty should be less than what murder 1 would be... that is all, even if it's 19 years and 11 months.
