There were green, one yellow, and one strawberry. The strawberry is more rare, so I got it. Its going to get really big and eventually be big enough to eat mice

Big enough frogs can.

Don't think you're gonna see any poison dart frogs trying to eat mice.

Obviously.... you got to name it Clyde. And yes, certain species of frogs can eat mice, they can also eat small birds as well.

Oh, man. There are some wild videos of these things eating. They basically grab stuff with their hands and stuff it in.

The biggest frog weighs like 7 pounds and it's basically a carnivorous hare.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

The African Cane Toad is massive. Those can eat some pretty big stuff. There was a prehistoric toad called Beelzebufo, which ate dinosaurs.

Oh, you can give them crickets, roaches, food pellets, etc. I have zero plans of giving it mice, though at least not for a while.

Beelzebufo most likely was a predator whose expansive mouth allowed it to eat relatively large prey, perhaps even juvenile dinosaurs. Bite force measurements from a growth series of Cranwell's horned frog (Ceratophrys cranwelli), suggest that the bite force of a large Beelzebufo skull width 15.4 cm (6.1 in) may have been between 500 and 2,200 newtons (110 and 490 lbf).

...

Wolves have a 400 lbs bite... imagine a frog that bit as hard as a wolf. imagine a swarm of man-eating frogs, capable of biting all the meat off your arm down to the bone. it could bite your hand off.

It pretty much eats anything that it can manage to. They say that its dangerous to ever put them in the same cage (even two that are the same size) because one will eat the other.

so besides what it's fed, it's pretty much going to be kept solitary? that sucks, but I guess frogs might not need the same kinda socialization some other animals do

I agree, but I think theyre naturally a solitary creature. Maybe I could get a large turtle or something that it couldnt eat.

toads are generally solitary animals, he's totally happy if he gets food and has a nice house. they don't really explore either, it's why you see the same toads every day outside at night guarding their little patch of territory.

during mating season they go crazy but that's every animal. it will be stressed during it's mating season, like any unfixed animal in heat, that's all.

don't touch it if at all possible. their skin is highly absorbent and will suck in all the shit on your hands which isn't good for them.

Yeah I'm pretty sure most frogs would eat anything they could fit into their mouths, just most aren't big enough to actually fit too much in there. Cool frog though I've been watching quite a few videos on this lady who keeps a lot of frogs/toads and they're pretty cool.

Thanks. Ive heard this, so I will be careful when moving it when I change the substrate. They had him in a little container that was SUPER wet to the point where you could barely see in. I think the humidity level will be tough to regulate because I dont want to saturate him in water, but I also dont want him to dry out.

I think as long as he has easy access to a bowl of water he can sit in he won't dry out regardless of relativity humidity. They're like camels they soak up water and swell like a balloon and use the water as needed.

Thats so cool. I was really thinking of getting the albino, but the strawberry was staring me down, so I thought he would be a nice, aggressive specimens.
