I've heard good things about it and have been waiting for the multiplayer patch to come out to play it. Will need to see if that's out yet. Been a while since I checked. I'm a huge Grim Dawn fan so I had the same reservation

I love it, already played 200+ hours and leveled almost every mastery to 50+. Just waiting for multiplayer patch before I play more

Runs better(for me at least, POE was still stuttering all the time when I tried it again last month)
Less convoluted systems
infinite stash space buyable with in game gold instead of real money
combat feels much smoother
there are meta builds of course but the game is clearable with any spec/abilities

and it feels fun while PoE always felt like work

Ya I liked it a lot, I stopped while waiting for the multiplayer patch so I didnt get burned out before playing with my buddies but my void knight is maxed out for what was available at the time.

i like the build options and the fact theres diversity within builds which doesnt happen as much with games these days.

endgame still boils down to a grind but I was pretty cool with the island system and they had plans for more endgame stuff (last played like Jan/Feb this year.

oh and I totally missed that line about Grim Dawn, I have ~600 hours in that too. There are some things LE does better/equal and some things it does worse. The story and characters definitely aren't as good as Grim Dawn's yet but it has a lot of potential. Gameplay wise it feels pretty similar, but LE is much better at explaining what abilities do. and the way the ability specs work is cool, you can spec one ability so it proc casts another ability under certain conditions, and if you've spec'd into that other ability it will use the upgraded effects. so there's a ton of ways you can customize stuff and it's fairly intuitive. the first time I got a character to 80+ I looked up the top builds for it and I had already been leveling with the #1 build anyway
