as exemplified in the video in the op, even being open about your realtionship status doesn't matter to stalkers. it's none of the viewers' business and doesn't prevent stalkers from being creepy. if anything, it only makes things worse.

Twitch streamers really need to stop sharing anything personal. People don't want to hear about your financial troubles, whether it was your niece's birthday, whether your grandma went to hospital, where you moved houses, where you grew up etc.

This is where this parasocial shit comes from. I watch people who clamp down on that shit and don't talk about anything but the game or whatever they are working on.

It's dumb to give out your personal information to hundreds of thousands of strangers and not expect trouble. Like, yes, stalkers shouldn't exist, everyone knows that. Doesn't change the obvious practicalities of making a living as a public figure. Celebrities have security, and if you're trying to be in the public eye, you should get some fucking security, too.
