Current Events > Started Gears of War 2 today. Didn't love the first one, but think 2 is great.

First one I could acknowledge for the impact it made on games, especially the cover shooter genre, but it felt its age and felt kind of like a drag. Still solid to good.

But 2 really feels better and it's a lot more fun so far. The settings are much cooler than gray run down city after run down city. The shooting's got good weight to it and a lot of the action feels satisfying. There are also some good gimmicks spread out through sections of the game to vary it up.

Only like 4 hours in, but yeah. Really good and if I played it back on release it'd have been even better, but it's good shit even by modern standards.

I enjoy all the mainline campaigns but 2 and 3 are the best for sure.

PC. Game Pass cloud. Started out real choppy, but a restart made it run pretty damn smoothly.

It has some really creative twists throughout the game. It's pretty cool and yeah a step up.

Just beat it.

Yeah that game was great. Had some issues with a few sections, but I think part of that was caused by lag from streaming honestly.

Pace was pretty great. Really broke up the fights with vehicles and set pieces. Last bit was basically a victory lap. Not sure you even could die. Fun though.

I'll be sure to move on to Gears of War 3 and Judgement before my game pass ultimate sub expires.

Yeah flying the reaver, defending Jacinto and riding the brumak makes up for an amazing finale.

I've been having Alot of fun with Gears 5 multiplayer/horde/escape lately. Havent played a campaign since Gears 2, pretty content with that

Gear 2 is the best in the whole series. single player and multiplayer.
