Imagine if there was no ps1 and we just had the n64 to fuck around with. There wouldn't be 99% of the weird experimental games that could come out because making games on carts was so expensive. N64 had like what...1 arcade port game which was bust a move 99? (An awesome game though don't get me wrong...fucking love this game) but look how many arcade ports ps1 got...just because they could print it on a cd and sell it for $20 ( a price point people could actually swallow and buy)

They were Hella cheaper. First party new games you could get for $40 (bought legend of legaia for that price when it hit) most third parties were $20 (good example is fighting force 64 was $60 and fighting force on ps1 was $20) and the fact the only time you can get an n64 game at a decent price was in the used bin at a rental store (which is where I got bust a move 99...and it was probably still more expensive then a ps1 game I honestly don't remember)

And if you ever bought new n64 games...have fun waiting for a price drop....they NEVER happened.

Only time you spent that much on a ps1 game when it was something like a working designs release which had a hardcover full color instruction manual and tons of extras

The PS1 had its moment.
But it was wildly under powered.
And frankly a pretty shitty 3D Engine.
