How do I do it without grinding or just not spending any geo?

There is no way to do it without spending Geo.

Give you a little heads up, every time you re-enter an area the mobs respawn. So for big purchases like that, I would just find an area with a decent groupings of mobs and farm out the geo. It really isn't that bad overall. So you could jump down the well in dirtmouth and farm the first couple mobs. It'll take some time, but you'll have the geo in no time.

I do not recall having to grind for the Lumafly Lantern, even in my first playthrough. I proceeded through the game as normal and eventually ended up with enough before I was at a point where I had no choice but to enter areas where it was required.

So long as you put on the Gathering swarm charm, you will probably collect enough geo by the time you need it

Gathering swarm saves a huge amount of time vs trying to pick up every individual pieces of money
