Look, I'm not expecting actors in super hero movies to be pre existing fans. But when they get the job, they should read some comics as research

Nolan Batman movies are great but not because Bale played Batman.

I like the first two Nolan Batman movies, but I think they did enough with the character.

I mean, the Nolan Batman movies had a pretty decisive ending... like he's quit. He's done being Batman, he can't really come back - Batman is both literally and metaphorically dead. How would they even make a new Batman movie?

You might be able to do a Batman Beyond adaptation type story. With Levitt or new actor for Terry as Batman and Old Man Bruce

This is what I thought they were going to do when it was mentioned how old Bruce was getting.

I'm not sure he's a particularly good Batman but he was surrounded by enough good to make the whole package worthwhile.

I wish more Batman adaptations would take after the TAS version of Bruce Wayne. I like the idea that Wayne can't be Batman comes from how much he throws himself into his work and not because he's an airhead playboy.

I agree reading some of the background literature on a character you are playing is important, but I didn't feel he did anything contrary to source material.. or spoke dismissively of it?

Agreed - loved how they showed him teetering on the edge of becoming too obsessive, often being pulled back by Alfred, Gordon, or Tompkins

Popular as they are there are a ton of people who give 0 fucks about the MCU. Bale is an actor, its not necessary for him to understand comics for the role.
