A double batch so they're extra thick

Here's what the process sort of looks like.

Dry ingredients. Oats, protein powder, chia seeds, flaxseed, cocoa powder, and cinnamon.

Peanut butter, honey, and coconut oil after 30 seconds in the microwave.

The finished product after setting in the fridge. I didn't take a pic of the mixing but it was tedious. It took quite a bit to get this double batch to stick in clumps.

Maybe I need to look into making my own, usually 1 meal a day is a protein or nutrition bar and those things are expensive. This seems easy enough, I'm a decent cook anyway.

What's the exact recipe/instructions for a single batch if you don't posting them? I think your double batch looks good, and the ingredients lead me to believe that I'd enjoy them.

I use this recipe. The actual recipe is pretty far down the page, as is often the case with these things. It seems to be a good recipe, though.

https://www.hellospoonful.com/no-bake-peanut-butter-oatmeal-protein-bars/

I use chocolate vegan protein powder instead of whatever they say. I also add a tablespoon of cocoa powder and cinnamon. Sometimes I add more peanut butter, like a cup instead of a 3/4 cup, and less honey. The honey does help it stick, though. I've found that adding a bit of water as needed also helps it stick while mixing.

Yes they're best cold because they stay together best that way. And I haven't done the calorie breakdown but I think it's around 300 per square.

It's pretty "earthy" tbh but the honey and chocolate helps.

it only gets as it normally does. which is not that much. and at 1-2 tablespoons per batch it's more of a lubricant/sticking agent than anything. the vast majority of the oil in the microwaved bowl is from the peanut butter.

just the peanut butter, honey, and coconut oil for 15-30 seconds so that it's easier to stir into the dry ingredients. it's kind of a chore and I recommend a big wooden spoon with a mixing bowl, neither of which I own. but I also don't like to pour a whole freaking cup of honey into something so I went slightly less with that, at least until I needed it to stick more.

once it's all mixed and pressed, there's no cooking involved. the labor is only with the measuring, mixing, and cleaning.
