We don't have time to deconditon the entire world out of religion. Rights and lives are at stake. We need to completely disregard their feelings. They can believe in God and not get abortions if they hate it so much. Freedom is more important.

I don't know why religious people feel attacked by people who don't believe doing things they don't like that don't affect them.

Doesn't this assume that change on this issue is a product of public opinion? A majority already opposed overturning Roe v. Wade, and attitudes on the issue have been steady for decades. What changed is that a radical pro-life minority became a majority of the court, which is a product of fluke timing and actuary tables.

I know literally one person irl that falls into this category. He also has reasonable views on things like not completely outlawing abortions. I straight out disagree with him, but he at the very least follows a reasonable thought process. So, yeah those people exist but I don't think they're the majority.

If you got the impression I'm part of the pro-life crowd then we've mixed signals somewhere but I appreciate the sentiment. I am very, very in the camp that bodily autonomy is pretty much one of the core basic human rights and it is absolutely none of my business what someone else does with their own body. Having this as a sig just makes it a bit easier to call some fuckers out on their hypocrisy

Oh no I wasn't mixing you in anything. I was complementing you for your sig. It's a great quote because I've debated with many pro-lifers and it lets me know who's actually "pro-life" and who's full of shit about it.

You sound like a person who never had to take care of a baby in their life before. If you did you would know that it takes a lot of TIME and MONEY to properly take care of a baby, especially new borns. If you want to be a shitty parent, of course that would absolutely be free.

They probably cost much less than other parts of budgets, but opponents to them usually argue that any sexual education (especially material that doesn't advocate abstinence) will lead to students having *more* sex. The same argument is used against contraception.

Opponents also say that schools "have no business teaching students about sex" and it should be up to the parents to teach them the way they see fit.
