In 2040 in America:

• In 2022, when the Supreme court realized what they can do after overturning Roe V Wade, they managed to overturn and change a lot of laws.
• Gay marriage has been reversed.
• Interracial marriage has been reversed
• Black rights have been reversed
• Women rights have been reversed
• They removed separation of Church and State
• Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have gone "missing". They bring Trump back for presidency.
• They remove term limits to keep Trump in for as long as possible.
• They even upload his consciousness into a supercomputer so he can live on forever.
• Mass surveillance happens all over America. Everything is wired. If they don't like what you say, they arrest you or you "disappear".
• They taint the food to make people dumber and more complient.
• They install microchips into everyone to find their every movement.
• Even after death, they use your soul to work in the mines, never to let you pass on to the afterlife.
• People get arrested on the streets for "illegally" smuggling games like Tomb Raider or cartoons like Steven Universe.
• People who are left wing or voted for Biden get grouped up into special "camps".

This is what the future of America will now be. All because of today.

Americans really are like the spoiled brats of the world. Like that friend complaining how unfair their parents' curfew is, make a huge deal about it, and then you find out all their crying is because their parents set their curfew to 11 pm or midnight, when it was 12:30 before.

In Buddhism, we try to live in the present as most as possible. We try not to live in even minutes ahead of our lives, let alone months or years.

Most certainly and when a tornado watch comes and the monks see the alert on their phones, they don't go "well it hasn't come yet so we shouldn't prepare...Instead, they would take the present moment to prepare for it. But they wouldn't be in fear of it.

In regard to this topic. It's nothing about survival. It's all about anxiety and suffering and we can avoid it by not living in the future.
