They definitely get a lot of undeserved hate, and SA2 hasn't aged that poorly, while SA1 is a bit rougher around the edges. SA1 has quite a bit of jank but a lot of it wasn't there in the Dreamcast version. We've just gotten a port of a port of a port as the digitally available version of today. The lip syncing is definitely atrocious though lol, the voice acting is cheesy but in a way that's funny enough to still get memed to this day

SA2 still plays great though, especially in the speed stages. It's a game that gives you a lot of control over Sonic and it's super satisfying when you skip big chunks of the level and finish with really low times, if that's your thing. It feels unforgiving in some places because you don't snap to rails or anything, but imo that makes it rewarding to make a big jump and stick the landing.

The early treasure hunting levels are super fun, but the later ones drag ass and so do all of the mech stages.

Obviously the Chao Garden is still a lot of fun and a great v pet thing to waste time on, and the soundtracks (especially SA2) are still amazing

Theyre super janky and buggy.

Sonic Adventure 1 all-time classic Dreamcast banger legend.

Just from living that experience alone it is an all-time best.

For the record, I e played SM64 and OoT and obviously know those abbreviations.

But I've never played Sonic Adventure or really haven't played much of any sonic game, so I had no idea what you guys were talking about.

SA1 hasn't aged very well, but it at least tried and, to a point, succeeded at being ambitious. The glitches are part of the fun too; there's SO many ways you can fuck around and break the game.

SA2 is pretty damn good, even if it's on the short side and the last couple mech levels drag on for far too long (looking at you, Cosmic Wall).

The SA1 glitches dont really exist in the Dreamcast version as mentioned and mods totally fix the PC version

Fix it in what way? Also, aside from glitches, what makes SADX the worse version? I've heard that quite a bit.

I don't like 1 all that much, but it and 2 were the games that made me get a Dreamcast. 1 is alright, but I had a lot more fun with 2 growing up. The Chao Garden in 2 is a lot better too.

It's like it's a law that any half-decent Sonic game has to have some janky quality to it.

The graphics are strange looking

I hated grinding on rails in SA2. Always felt like I was going to miss landing on them.

Chao Garden was so fun.

I couldn't take them serious during the first mission thing I'll use SA2 for example you have Sonic running around a city cops chasing him and destroying cars all over the city. Crashing full speed into a building at the end. Shit makes no sense at all.

There was a lot of lazy shortcuts taken with the DX port that fucked up some of the textures and the way they were handled, which has only gotten exacerbated with each new console it comes to. Here's a few quick examples
