Alright, so the resist ending is pretty straightforward and likely leads into New Dawn. I get that.

For the Walk Away ending, I don't get that.

The Deputy having another one of his blackouts makes sense. But a lot of people assume he goes ahead and kills everyone in the car, which makes absolutely no sense at all.

His programming was to kill Eli specifically. We saw that, we did it. When that was done, the Deputy was able to fight through the programming and destroy the things causing him to freak out before taking out Jacob.

Not to mention you can hear the song on the radio and be absolutely fine after this, the only thing you can't do is go to the veteran center, because programming.

There is an argument to be had that Pratt, instead, does something.

But Pratt is a little bitch, and I don't believe for a second that he could do shit in a car with 3 tough sons of bitches.

Or is it just another speculation moment?

I assume it's canon, as FC6 has no nukes. Either that, or the walk away ending at the very beginning is canon.

It's been awhile since I played, but my main takeaway was that the writing was dodgy throughout and really doesn't hold up to much scrutiny.

Also thought it was really stupid what New Dawn did with FC5's protagonist

The end of that game was insultingly bad

Well, no, Jacob's programming was to kill Eli. Only You could do that. Then you fight against the conditioning, and kill him.

The writing was great, imo. It's just this specific ending I had issues with, based on community speculation.

I quite liked it myself. The idea that the villain was batshit, but he was right all along...yeah, it's just wild and not something done often.

Nah, the resist ending is definitely the canon ending. It ties directly into New Dawn. No idea why Far Cry 6 isn't post apocalyptic, since it's supposed to be after 5.

But is New Dawn a separate timeline or something? Because it is a spin-off game.

I thought it had a strong premise and the intro really did a good job of pulling me in, but as soon as it got into mind control, magic hallucinations, and drug zombies it just kind of lost me.

The mind control and drug zombie stuff is popular fiction, the former or which is usually a sleeper agent and the latter of which is...honestly inspired by real people who become psycho drug addicts who do anything for the next hit.

Faith's Bliss stuff was just cool to me, in any case.

To each their own I guess, I just prefer a more grounded story
