Shinbi Apartment has some pretty fucked up shit going on, but the ghost collecting is basically tacked on and doesnt really add much outside of the action scenes. Generally speaking it kinda seems like with mons you either gets kids stuff like Pokemon or ridiculously edgy stuff like SMT. I know there is a romhack mod that let's you play a grunt but I would hope more for playing Jesse or James. I wouldn't even care if the main plot wasn't nefarious and they got caught up in something bigger than themselves and ended up accidently being dragged along to save the day.
