thats literally what the first resident evil was, minus the 1st person perspective.
the positive are quite easy - graphics, setting and the Baker family. Everything up until the ship is fantastic.
7 was a really good Resident Evil game. 6 was a really good action game that had zero business being a called a Resident Evil game.

I mean 4 was already a great departure from its survival aspect to action and then they took it further with 5. Is it so weird that they took it even further with 6? Sounds expected to me.

-Graphics are inconsequential, they'll probably be outdated in the eyes of anyone who cares sooner than later, I'd take performance over visuals.
-The setting is just a dark house, I'm taking this to mean atmosphere which isn't going to mean much on the second playthrough without suspense and revelations to come.
-The Baker Family sure if you like them that's great. You know what I don't like about them? Being made to sit there rewatching interactions with them, that'll get grating. Also hey how about Ethan? About as interesting as accidentally elbowing a glass off the counter while washing the dishes.

The 'That's not what Resident Evil is, it's strayed too far from its roots' bit seems like something I could throw right back. I could say these character grew and became more equipped to deal with these outbreaks and the series' gameplay followed them until it suddenly coughed up its entrails and devolved into slowly traipsing round a derelict house seeing which car key fits in the small opening in the wall, wondering when the gameplay will take another unavoidable 3 minutes break.
You say nothing about gameplay or replay value which should obviously be at the forefront because it's a video game. The best you might get with what you said was convincing me to watch it on Youtube, maybe a speedrun. Most of what you focus on are the kind of things journalists latch on to.

I should I never said 6 was good but I'm dead set on it being a better game than 7. The direction the series went has me trying to be nicer to 6 lately. If you want me to bend over backwards defending 6 I'll give it a go.

youre in the minority of thinking 5/6 are great resident evil games for a reason.

we dont need to dive into the reasons. Sales figures dont tell the whole story and I dont think 5/6 are bad games at all. They technically play really well and are fun coop games. But if youre going to tell me to list the best Resident Evil games, 5/6 and low on the list for good reason. The Revelations series are better RE games.

With that said, if Capcom really wanted to print money then they would make more Dino Crisis games. The game has always sold well and is super popular amongst fans. With their RE Engine they could easily make a new Dino Crisis.

TC has nothing to contribute regarding the RE6/7 bit he participated in so he's trying to pretend like he's an instigator rather than a guy repeatedly yelling that something sucks. DR has nothing to do with it, I could have stuck up for any game there and he'd say that about it.
