Always been a fan, but never much looked into the books at all. I'm looking for more side story stuff, not OT Vader, Skywalker stories.

I'm at a job where I have a lot of downtime, so I'm buying a few books. I picked up Outbound Flight and Rebel Rising.

Anything with bounty hunters, or dark side stuff is more ideal. Shadow of the Empire is already on my radar. I like the inquisitor and dark brotherhood stuff too.

Thanks in advance CE.

Depends on if you only want the new Didney Canon or are down for anything.

Tarkin was a good read and delves into his background. I think Vader has a cameo at some point or they go on a mission (forget if it's in a flashback or in the actual progress of the story). Regardless Vader isn't really the focus.

Anything, I'd more prefer out of the norm and characters that are less familiar. Doesn't have to have anything to do with the modern Disney SW.

Only good thing about the new Jedi order books is they finally make use of Kyle katarn outside of the dark forces games

Rogue Squadron pretty good? I saw it inspired a lot of games and whatnot.

I was looking at a few of these, and I, Jedi. I figure I'll burn through a couple a week, depending.

A lot of stuff in the rogue squadron books was based off the xwing game. Apparently one of the battles is pretty much a walkthrough for one of the missions.

If you don't mind going back to Legends and are interested in dark siders I heartily recommend Plaugeis as well as the Darth Bane Trilogy.

No Vader in Plaugeis (plenty of Palps tho)

And Darth Bane lived over a thousand years before the events of the films.

Ignore this post too. Not because it's not a great book, it's phenomenal. But I highly recommend reading the whole X-Wing series prior to it to really get to know all the main characters and little jokes.

I saw that is book 9, so I figure I'd start with 1 if I did.

Got some stuff to look into, thanks for the suggestions so far.

That's fair but I read it before I read the other X-wing books and found it didn't inhibit my enjoyment at all.

Eww...

Read Lost Stars. Or honestly anything by Claudia Grey. The two new Thrawn Trilogies are good too.

I'm real interested in Thrawn, I see him brought up a lot, and only saw him in animated so far. I may start with the Thrawn trilogy and a few X-Wing books. I'm gonna look into everything mentioned for sure.

I enjoyed the old Han Solo trilogy. How he ended up with Chewbacca, got the Falcon, the story behind why he was unsure Lando would be welcoming in ROTJ. Essentially his life leading directly into his first appearance in ANH.

Just to be sure you know, the Thrawn trilogy most people reference is the one starting with Heir to the Empire.

Awesome, thanks. I'm gonna order a few today, bumping this once for some future books.
