And... It's still excellent

There are so many things in the game you can see inspired other games

In the end I helped many people, became god, and all the people rose up to kill me... I hoped that I raised them well enough to win, but they didn't. oh wells...

I can't remember if I tried that but I never managed to get into the non-Exile/Avernum Spiderweb software games

I finished via the remake of Geneforge 1 (Mutagen), it adds new stuff like being able to get a pacifist clear as well as stealth

Yaknow, in a weird way Bioshock might be based on Geneforge... the canisters are very much Plasmid, so the OG source of Adam coulda been a Geneforge (it's even a viscous green liquid)

...well, ok, sea slugs that are in a Geneforge

I just beat it again like twice in a row.... ... seeing how all the different plotlines thread together is really interesting; the quests are more threaded than Fallout New Vegas even

did you play through a second time in only three days?

I think I played the one that was romans VS celts or something and didn't like it even though it's probably good when you get into it. I specifically liked the cave-world filled with catmen, lizardmen, and demons in Exile and the theme from the other one just didn't catch me.

for geneforge is it the original or a remake like Avernum? I don't think I have actually tried it and assumed I would feel the same way as the celt one.

and a third time! it was cool seeing all the quest threads. The remake is a lot easier to play through more than once cuz of quicksave and I played on Casual for the later playtrhough (the 2nd playthrough was a Torment-NoSummon-Pacifist run)
