^ hell i've heard stories of people trying to get covid on purpose when they heard that people with covid had to stay home and still get paid.

If they haven't already, conservative media will be turning on the survivors and families for wanting more than thoughts and prayers. They'll start casting doubt on the authenticity of the affected parties since they are demanding political action. The conspiracy theories are inevitable.

Why did they have a pediatrician survey the scene? I get they specialize in children and their health, but the wounds they received seems kind of beyond their expertise and would be more suited for observation by a military doctor / surgeon.

He/She might have been the pediatrician for many of the children, or been better equipped to understand children's anatomy for treatment than an EMT

Why would they even consider sharing them unless asked though? That's images of their young loved ones and their peers and caretakers whose lives were robbed from them while their bodies were mutilated. Guns used for ill purposes and just plain evil against people obviously cause horrendous results. This isn't some situation were observers can learn anything beyond that, unlike in cautionary instructional videos about improper firearm use, driving accidents or factory / machinery accidents.

You are asking why any parent would volunteer to share images? Like.. you can't believe or fathom than any parent would want to do so as a way to make their own meaning of what happened to their child?

And it completely undermines the evil behind his actions, as if he was a "misunderstood youth trying to be heard."

Dude was a monster. He bullied classmates, threatened their lives, shared/talked about animal abuse openly, hell he even bragged on social media that he was about to shoot up a school. I even read an article that a retired agent knew about his moves, but didn't do anything or even reported it to active law enforcement. Texas failed those kids at nearly every step.
