The scream show was decent until it's third season

And tara coming back could work but I'd prefer Kirby since 5 confirmed she survived

That's fine. The old characters are kinda the weakest part of scream 5 anyway and Scream is prob a top 15 movie all time for me

I support that tbh. The torch was officially passed in 5 and Sidney deserves her peace.

She didn't want to appear in scream 3 which is why she is barely in it

They had to write 2 scripts for scream 4
One with sidney and one without because they weren't sure they could get neve to agree to come back.

Is that really why she wasn't in 3 much? I assumed it was scheduling. Kind of sad that she didn't enjoy making the last few. She's so good in them and at this point imo I feel safe to say Sidney Prescott is the best final girl of all time.

it was mostly scheduling issues but her not really wanting to be involved is also true
she was filming drowning mona and party of 5 at the same time and her contract only allowed her to be on the scream 3 set for 20 days
so they had to rewrite the script around her

im reading trivia and i just learned something neat about scream 3
i always knew that originally the character of angelina was the second killer but rewrites changed her into a victim instead. but a lot of what happens in the movie just cant be realistically done with just 1 killer so apparently wes craven still considered angelina the second killer and her death scene was roman betraying her.

Tara and Kirby and Brooke should all be in scream 6

Matthew Lillard is standing up for his former co-star. During a Twitter Spaces conversation with Midnite Movie Club, the 52-year-old actor defended Neve Campbell's decision to walk away from the Scream franchise due to a pay dispute.

Lillard played Stu in the original Scream film in 1996, while Campbell has starred as Sidney Prescott in all five films in the franchise.

"Did Tom Cruise take less money for [the Top Gun sequel]? Fuck no dude. So why is a woman supposed to take less? Why wouldn't you pay her more as the series goes on?" Lillard said. "Was Scream 5 a hit or not a hit? It was a smash hit. Did they make a shit ton of money? Yes."

"Should Neve Campbell be paid for the work she's done in five movies of a franchise? Yes, because she's a female lead of one of the most successful horror franchises," he continued, adding that the situation is "infuriating."'

Jamie Kennedy, who played Randy in multiple Scream films, likewise sided with Campbell in the dispute, stating that the whole thing "is a clear example of how twisted the system is."

"Sidney Prescott is the center of Scream. Neve Campbell is the face of Scream. Ghostface chasing her throughout the whole franchise," Kennedy said in a video he posted to YouTube. "... The franchise gets rebooted. It's more popular than ever... How can you make Scream without Sidney Prescott?... It's her story, her POV, her pain, everything is her. She's the heroine."

"It's crazy that the people behind the scenes are not paying the money to literally the face of the franchise," he added. "It's people who weren't involved from the get-go. This is everything that's wrong with the business."

I don't really like the Scream movies or most of the trends in Hollywood horror that they popularized.
